Mary's Story
My 'story' probably wouldn't win an Academy Award, and I don't even know that I could put the last 44 years of my life on paper. I left Washington soon after graduation and returned in 2001 to care for my Mother during the last four years of her life. I lived in New Mexico nearly all of the years before returning, and love the southwest. My first husband and I had two daughters. We were a family active in raising quarter horses. My girls were active in 4H, and as a family we were all active in competing and showing our horses. After 23 years of marriage, my husband and I were divorced. After a time, I married my second husband and joined him on his cattle ranch in Las Vegas, New mexico. The ranch was just a little over 9 sections of land, approximately big enough to keep me saddle sore for the rest of my life. I loved it though. When that marriage went south, I branched out on my own sucessfully raising Arabians. In between all of the horsing around, I was also doing some print and runway modeling. e state of New Mexico in 1989. This is about my only 'claim to fame', but it was an interesting and fun part of my life. When I came to Seattle in 2001 to visit my family, I was saddened to see that my Mother was so ill. It was my decision to return to New Mexico to either sell or give away everything I owned so that I could return to Seattle to become my Moms caregiver. My Mother died in 2005, but I would like to think that she enjoyed the last years of her life to the best of her ability, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to perhaps make life a little easier for her. Technically, I have been single for the last 15 years...but met, and have been with the love of my life for the last 7 years. Although I'm retired from the workforce, Mike and I work as a team breaking and training horses. Its a lot of work, but something that we both dearly love and find rewarding. I have had, and continue to have a very rich and rewarding life. I now have 5 natural grandchildren, with the oldest being 25 and the youngest 3, and 5 adopted grandchildren with the oldest being 10 and the youngest 4. Well...there you have it, the highlights of my life over the last 44 years. Any of you that remember me are welcomed to correspond. Sunny
